One Simple Step At A Time For Success

Most people wish to have success as fast as possible, but usually end up not being successful in the end. We tend to forget that success is achieved through small steps over time.

Darren Hardy, the publisher of SUCCESS magazine, shares in his book, The Compound Effect, that it is the little everyday decisions which will lead you to success.

His book covers useful advice and tips, such as:

1) Track every action that relates to an area of your life you wish to improve. Step by step, day by day, your choices will shape your actions until they become habits, where practice makes them permanent.

2) Your choices are only meaningful when you connect them to your dreams. The most motivating choices are the ones aligned with your purpose and values. You have to want something, and know why you want it, or you would end up giving up too easily.

3) Write out your top 3 goals. Make a list of bad habits that might be sabotaging your progress in each area. Identify 3 new habits you need to develop to put you on track towards your most important goal.

4) Build morning and evening routines. Write down key behaviours you want to establish a rhythm and track weekly.

5) Evaluate your current associations and assess who to limit or expand. Find and engage a mentor in 3 areas of your life you are most focused on improving.

6) Identify 3 areas in your life where you can do extra, beat the expectations, and do the unexpected.
