Mastering the Seven Decisions That Determine Personal SuccesThe book, Mastering the Seven Decisions That Determine Personal Success, by Andy Andrews explains more about The Seven Decisions, which was first described in his earlier bestseller, The Traveler’s Gift.

Andy has studied the biographies of successful people and spent time with them, and summarized what he has learned into seven principles that would bring about lasting success in your life.

The secret to lifelong success is the consistent application of these seven principles. The Seven Decisions include:

1. The Responsible Decision – The Buck Stops Here

You will accept responsibility for your past, which would free you to move into a brighter future. You will not blame your parents, spouse, boss, or employees for your present situation or your lack of success.

You are responsible for your success. Your thinking governs your decisions, which affects where you are today – mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially. You can begin the process of changing by changing the way you think.

2. The Guided Decision – I Will Seek Wisdom

You will read and listen to books and recordings that bring about positive changes in your personal relationships and increase your belief in yourself and your future. You will choose your friends with care, and associate with people whose lives and lifestyles you admire.

You will learn to serve others, which in turn attracts people to you and increases the possibility that they would share their wisdom with you.

3. The Active Decision – I Am a Person of Action

You will be a person of action, and walk with a spring in your step and a smile on your face. You will be a leader with the ability to encourage and inspire others to greatness.

You will make decisions quickly, and be daring and courageous without fear. You do not fear failure.

4. The Certain Decision – I Have a Decided Heart

You will have a decided heart and pursue your dreams with determination and focus. You will wake up every morning with an excitement about the new day and its opportunity for growth and change.

You will move now and not look back. You do not procrastinate. Your course has been charted and your destiny is assured.

5. The Joyful Decision – Today, I Will Choose to be Happy

You will be a happy person and truly understand the concept of happiness. You know that happiness is a choice and you will choose to be happy.

You are enthusiastic about the day and alert to its possibilities. You will smile at every person you meet, and always smile first.  You will have a grateful spirit.

6. The Compassionate Decision – I Will Greet This Day With a Forgiving Spirit

You understand that forgiveness only has value when it is given away. By granting forgiveness, you release the demons of the past and create a new beginning. You will forgive yourself.

You will forgive even those who do not ask for forgiveness. You will greet each day with a forgiving spirit, and forgive those who criticize you unjustly.

7. The Persistent Decision – I Will Persist Without Exception

You choose to persist without exception and continue despite exhaustion. You will hold fast to your dreams, stay the course and do not quit.

You will focus on results, and have faith in your future. You will look forward, and not look left or right.
